Learning Objectives
: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
i. read
at least three sentences in the given text with correct pronunciation.
ii. read at least two simple
sentences written by the students with guidance.
Teaching-learning resources:
Hari Raya minus one, ‘Kuih Raya’, Raya Card, text, a large text, puzzle board,
tv frame, observation sheet and worksheets.
Moral Values:
Respect eldest – Teacher tries to bring out
the value found in Hari Raya festival
that is to respect the eldest.
Unity- Students will respect other religions
and work together with them after the learnt about Hari Raya
Politeness- This value is integrated during
group work where the students will talk politely with each other. This value
also integrated when receiving “Kuih Raya”
INDUCTION SET:
1.
Teacher plays minus one “Hari Raya”
2.
Pupils respond to the teacher’s questions
3.
Pupils shake hand with each other
4.
Pupils guess topic of the day.
PRESENTATION:
1.
Teacher models the text “Hari Raya” and pupil follow after the teacher.
2.
Pupils are provided with six different colour envelopes.
3.
Pupils are grouped according to the colours.
4.
Inside the envelope, there will be parts of the text learnt by the pupil
just now.
5.
When the teacher mentioned a colour. For example ‘red’, the red group
will read their part.
Practice:
1.
Teacher displays a big puzzle.
2.
A volunteer come to the front and read part of the text and followed by
the others.
3.
After read it, the pupil can paste the puzzle at the board.
4.
These steps continue until few pupils get a chance.
Production:
1.
Pupils are divided into groups.
2.
Pupils imagine themselves as a reporter.
3.
By looking at the picture puzzle related to hari ray completed just now,
the pupils are required to write at least 5 sentences related to the picture.
4.
Finally, the pupils will present their sentences behind a tv frame.
Closure:
1.
Teacher conducts a quick quiz related to the text or lesson
2.
Pupils line up and shakes hand with the teacher while receiving raya
cookies.
