DRAMA INTRO
Yong-Pal is a Korean drama series aired on SBS from August 5
to October 1, 2015 for 18 episodes. Daesang winner Joo Won and top actress Kim
Tae Hee together with Chae Jung An and Jo Hyun Jae acted in this series. The
meaning of Yong Pal is ‘Skilled Quack’.
SUMMARY
Joo Won is a skilled resident on a big hospital.
Unfortunately, to cure his sick sister, he needs a lot of money. Due to that,
he has to do house calls for gangsters and that is how he was known as Yong
Pal.
Because of his well-known skills, he was asked to serve the
VIPs and he found Kim Tae Hee who is in trouble. Kim Tae Hee troubled by her
step brother due to heir problems. Jo Hyun Jae (step brother) wants to be the chairman of Hansan Group. Joo Woon cured Kim Tae Hee and both of them fights Jo Hyun Jae for
the throne.
CHARACTERS
Being doctor is not something new for Joo Woon. With
innocent, nerd and dull face, Joo Woon brought the character well to show
humbleness and poor village boy character.
No much credict for Kim Tae Hee because she just did a normal
character with a dull expression and no much aegyo. Her character is
not that challenging but she acted well.
Miss I believe Jo Hyun Jae had most difficult time because
he need to change his personality from protagonist to antagonist. The handsome
hero finally acted a cruel character. His handsome look and smile really helped
him to act well as a evil brother.
Chae Jung An’s character really suits her. Her arrogant and
charismatic acting was original.
Choi Min's short appearance also really shows he is a best romantic actor.
Jo Bok Rae just handsome as a doctor. (No much role).
CRITICISM
The story is really interesting because of a different plot.
Thinking of making house calls without hospital facilities is really
interesting and novel. Romance between Joo Woon and Kim Tae Hae is really
moderate and good but much kiss scenes. Should reduce the kiss scenes, we
should pity the actors as they have rights on their body as well. Lacking in
this drama is the flashback keeps repeating. The same scenes are repeated
again and again to show the flashback. Overall excellent drama which gains 7.2
Miss I star.
